How Do I Know My Domain Listing Actually Gets Visits?
Every CNM.com listing shows its bot-filtered view count on the page itself — and sellers can watch traffic in their own Google Analytics in real time.
It's the question every domain seller eventually asks. You list a domain, you set a price, and then — silence. Is anyone seeing it? Is the marketplace showing it to anyone at all? On most platforms you're left taking the marketplace's word for it, or squinting at a dashboard whose numbers you have no way to check.
We think a seller deserves better than trust-us. So we built it two ways: numbers you can see, and numbers you can independently verify.
Every CNM.com listing shows its numbers
CNM.com counts three things for every listing: direct visits to the listing's page, impressions in marketplace search results, and clicks from those results. All of it is filtered for bots before it's counted — crawlers, scrapers, and monitoring tools don't inflate anything — so the numbers reflect people, not scripts.
And you don't need a dashboard to see them. The view count is displayed right on the listing's own page — the same page a buyer sees. Open your listing the way a buyer would and the count is there, combining direct visits and search clicks. There's nothing to log into, nothing to export, and nothing shown to you that isn't shown to everyone.
That last part matters more than it sounds. A traffic number that only the seller can see is a claim. A traffic number printed on the public sales page is a commitment — buyers see it too, so we have every reason to keep it honest and no room to quietly pad it.
Bring your own Google Analytics
Counting honestly still asks you to trust our counting. So CNM.com goes one step further: attach your own Google Analytics to your listings and watch the traffic yourself.
Add the GA4 measurement ID from your own Analytics property (the G-XXXX one) to your CNM.com seller account, and every one of your listings starts reporting to you. Each real visit to a listing's page fires a page view into your Google Analytics property — with the page URL and title — right alongside our own tracking. Open your GA real-time report, visit your listing, and watch yourself show up.
The integration is deliberately narrow. Your tag receives exactly one page view per visit to your listing's page — it doesn't follow visitors around the rest of the marketplace, and nothing else on our site reports to your property. Your ID is validated before it's ever used, and one ID covers all of your listings automatically.
This is the receipt most marketplaces never hand over. You don't have to wonder whether "1,240 views" means anything; the visits land in your own reports, timestamped, with geography and device data, in an account we can't touch. If we say your listing gets traffic, you can check.
Direct visits are the number to watch
Of the three counts, direct visits deserve special attention — because they're the one you can grow yourself.
A direct visit usually means someone typed your domain into their browser, or followed a link to it. If you've pointed your domain's DNS at CNM.com, every person who types it in lands on your sales page — and every one of them becomes a countable, verifiable visit. That's the same type-in signal we tell buyers to look for: a domain that resolves to its own order page is the strongest proof that the listing is real and the seller is the actual owner. For you as the seller, it has a second benefit — it turns your domain's existing type-in traffic into measured demand on the page where it can convert.
Search impressions and clicks tell you how the marketplace itself is working for you: impressions show your listing is surfacing when buyers search, and clicks show the name is earning attention when it does.
Reading the numbers
You don't need a course in analytics to act on this — a few patterns cover most cases:
- Steady visits, no offers. The name draws interest but the terms don't close it. Consider enabling offers if you're buy-now only, or revisiting the price.
- Impressions but few clicks. Buyers see the listing in results and pass. Often a price positioned against the wrong comparables — our guide to what makes a domain valuable is a good calibration check.
- Real type-in traffic in your GA. That's evidence of organic demand for the name itself — worth knowing before you accept the first offer that arrives.
Listing is free, and so is knowing
Listing on CNM.com is free — you set the price, verification protects your buyers, and you pay a commission only when the domain sells. The traffic visibility comes with it: honest counts on the page from day one, and your own Google Analytics watching over our shoulder the moment you add your measurement ID.
Sell where you can see what's happening. List your domain, point it at your sales page, and stop wondering whether anyone's looking.
